WRP performance head installed with our ARP head bolt kit.
The head gasket had been leaking enough that it corroded #1 and #2 solid into place. A little patience and persuasion was required here!
This old engine really didn't look that bad inside
We figured the head never got torqued or re-torqued properly, thus leaked coolant into the bores from the start up. Damaged the engine and also cracked the block.
Block is cracked and fixed with "bondo"
We started dis-assembly of our '47 C8 Cv. for a complete restoration. We removed the '56 license plate, which was the last time it ran and drove.
Joyce and Jim's '53 Hornet sedan. We had to do a few repairs just before the Great Race 2024. From here, it went directly to Owensboro, Ky., where the race started this year.
A little more attention to detail when installing this gasket probably would have prevented several issues.
Good time for a clean up on aisle H. We usually find a long bristle brush, soap and water go a long way.
Jim and Joyce's car sat rather low, and after we inspected what was in the trunk, it should have! We ended up installing a pair of air shocks, which leveled it right up. Drives great too!
Lots of bag and tag ...
The cowl is kind of rough too.
We found both rear bed corners needing a little attention.
